There are several acupuncture points that are known to induce uterine contractions. These points are primarily used to induce labor at the full-term of a pregnancy. They are therefore contraindicated during the pregnancy. Most likely, your acupuncturist used the point, Large Intestine 4 (LI 4). While your experience of uterine cramping is uncommon, it is not impossible. Mention this experience to your acupuncturist during your next treatment. |
