Question: Have you or do you know anybody who has had acupuncture done?

If so for what? and what was the effectiveness? I have been thinking about having it done. However my insurance doesn't cover it and it can get rather pricey. I intend to shop around.

I ripped the insertion of my hamstring into my butt and limped around for 2 months with no real sings of improvement. I had 2 rounds or acupuncture done they were about half hour each and my leg was practically as good as it was before the injury. A year later my ankle was bothering me i got 1 round done and it was totally pain free since then. I dislocating my shoulder skiing this march and i got 2 more rounds i think they were maybe 15mins this time and my shoulder hasn't bothered me since. It works like magic for me, plus it numbs the pain for about 2 hours after you get it, better than any drug i have ever tryed. I think my acupuncture was maybe 35 dollars but i don't think that was under insurance so it is definitely worth it for me. My mom had the same results as me, my brother got it done on his knees andi don't think that he was so lucky. I get mine done by my naturopath and she is a pro. All naturopaths in canada must learn acupuncture in school so you could start looking there. Good luck i hope it works as well for you as it did for me.

I had high blood pressure so I use to have acupuncture done in France for 10 years. Once a week. It is effective as long you continue going every week. If you stop the medical issue comes back. So overall I can say that I did waste a lot of money.

I have had acupuncture for a slipped disc done by a G P who was just learning, he left a needle in I never went back to him again? I have done a lot more research since then. If you can find a Chinese Traditional Practitioner, who does the pulse test they are the best. I have also bought a machine called acuhealth 900 in 1978 which I would not be without. Try this acuhealth.com.au good luck

I've had it done for a few months and it helped relieve a little tension in my neck/ shoulders, if your insurance doesn't cover it I would still at least try it. At first it kind of hurt for me because everything was so tense before, but it started to feel better and better every week.

I had it for carpal tunnel, both wrists. Completely resolved the problem/ pain. I choose to go to only Chinese doctor of oriental medicine, who also does herbal care. I have used acupuncture for back pain, breathing problems also.

I've heard both good and bad things about this procedure, it really depends on the qualifications of the practitioner. I know more about acupressure than I do acupuncture I was studying to do Sports medicine maybe be a Kinesiologist or massage therapist at one point. Right now I am a trainer and my knowledge does come in handy. As a certified trainer I would never recommend acupuncture as a first resort for anyone but I never have had that question arise before with any of my clients.
