How does acupuncture work in conjunction with other TTC efforts?
I've read stats on success, but I'm curious about the actual day to day aspects of treatment.How often do you have to go? How long do the treatments continue? If you're doing IVF, do you start in advance of the IVF, or at the same time?
How does acupuncture work on pain management for severe back/leg pain with sciatic pain? Any experience?
I have been thinking I want to try acupuncture for pain in my back & legs. Also have nerve issues to deal with. Two surgeries in two years want to look for alternatives as I do not want to have surgery again & I cannot deal with the pain on a constant battle. It interferes with my activity, exercise, job, sleep, etc.

I have an illness and they want to operate my uncles a brain doctor and he said that I would probably stroke out. im asking because 2years ago i was pushed by a drunk kid and landed funnily. several tendons or ligaments were snapped causing considerable pain and i wasnt able to move my arm for weeks as the pain was too much. two years later i have tried physio and i still cant lift my arm above my head without being in pain.i was hoping that it might work as my last resort.

I understand the whole energy thing about acupuncture and to me, it's a lot like Reiki, and I'm not so sure I believe in stabilizing the body's energy flow. However, I recently went for an acupuncture treatment to write a paper on alternative therapies, and I actually got muscular pain relief from the needling. I didn't tell the practitioner that I had pain in both calves, just the left one. She treated just the left calf along with the energy alignment stuff. The right calf was still sore after treatment, but the left calf was pain free. Later that night, the tops of my feet were numb. How does needling promote analgesia?

i dont believe in chinese traditional medicine and stuff, until my parent turn me to this alternative medicine.and in two years, i've lost my asthma, at that time, i was 13.but really, how does this stuff work?
ACUPUNCTURE...how does this mysterious treatment work so well?
I started having weekly acupuncture sessions 3 years ago for insomnia. It began to work very slowly, but now, after all this time, it is very easy to sleep 15 straight hours with no sleeping medication. She uses needles not only for that, but for keeping my skin in good condition, weight maintenance, sprained ankles, sore muscles, even feeling " blue" at times...you name it it works. I'm not complaining, but WHY does it work? No one has been able to really explain it to me.
